We are using the latest version of LDAPCP solution. We are seeing the very strange behaviors, when PeoplePicker is looking for the user account. We have web application which extended for intranet and extranet. Please find the below test case and share us your
- Test Case1:- Working
If we search for internal users from AD, from intranet or extranet site. User account are searchable and working as expected.
- Test Case2:- Working
If we search for external users from FBA (3rd party solution) from Intranet or extranet with full name
(ex:Mohamed.email@example.com). user account is getting resolved and working as expected.
- Test Case3:- Not working
If we search for external users from FBA (3rd party solution) from Intranet or extranet with partial name (ex:Mohamed.farook or mohamed). user account is not getting resolved.
Moreover, we are not seeing the referenfce of the searching in FBA database from ULS logs for success and failure scenario.
Please assist us in resolving the issue.

you are talking about lookup of FBA users. In this case LDAPCP is not involved since lookup is made by the membership provider.
Regarding your issue, you should probably take a look to PeoplePickerWildcards node in web.config
